Lady Indians take two wins, extend win streak to five, in first day of tournament
The Lady Indians opened a two-day Rocky Top Tournament with two victories, stretching their current win streak to five.
Playing Stone Memorial (TN) first, 皇冠足球平台 won in straight sets, 25-8 and 25-12, making quick work of its opponent. The second match against Bullit East (TN) was much more difficult, but the same result.
Down 24-16, the Lady Indians dug deep and pulled out a thrilling 30-28 win in the first set. Allie Dalton came up big for the girls when it mattered the most.
"Allie served to get us up to 24-24, and then missed her serve which was the story of that set," says coach Matt Heyl. "Lots and lots of errors but she did clutch a whole bunch of serves to bring us back. And then we fought back and forth to win 30-28. Looking beyond the errors, I saw something I haven't seen before and that was tons of grit."
The girls finished off Bullit East 25-15 in the second set to claim the win. The Lady Indians earn the top spot in their group with the two wins, and advance to play on Saturday again.
皇冠足球平台 is now 9-4 overall on the season, and is one win shy of tying a school record of six consecutive victories.
